The TTA will not accept just any company as a member. Each company, contractor and tiling fixer that wishes to join is carefully checked for financial, technical and service standards. For all projects, large or small, you need confidence that the people taking on the job are skilled professionals. Avoid rogue traders. Enjoy peace of mind. Check their credentials and make sure they are members of The Tile

Construction is one of the biggest industries in the UK and, by its nature, often one of the most dangerous. You may well know the statistics – 2,800 people have died and many thousands more have been seriously injured in construction workplace accidents in the last 25 years. Quite rightly, construction companies like yours make Health & Safety the number one priority, and go to great lengths to reduce the risks inherent in what you do. You also face a whole raft of legislation designed specifically by the HSE to reduce accidents in your sector for staff, sub-contractors and site visitors. Equally the organisational structure of much of the construction sector, with heavy reliance on self employed trades and sub-contractors, creates a minefield of Employment Law issues which you need to manage effectively to protect your business, whilst also providing fair treatment and motivating employees. From the environmental perspective, construction is also a high risk sector, and the Environment Agency does not hesitate to punish organisations who contravene regulations. Equally, there is a significant opportunity to win work by demonstrating to your clients that you manage your supply chain to support sustainability. We understand the needs of construction companies intimately. Our consultants have the knowledge and expertise in complying with all legal duties, with substantial experience working with businesses of all sizes in the sector.
Achilles BuildingConfidence is the construction industry accreditation and registration standard used by the construction sector in the UK. Launched in 2007 in collaboration with Lend Lease, Achilles BuildingConfidence is designed to meet the increasingly demanding legislative and risk management needs of construction clients. Joining Achilles BuildingConfidence as a supplier provides your organisation with an opportunity to showcase your capabilities and access multiple contract opportunities by completing a single pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ). Achilles BuildingConfidence is used by many construction buyer organisations including British Land, Costain, Laing O’Rourke, Shepherd and Tarmac to source potential suppliers. Buyers use Achilles BuildingConfidence for different requirements from sourcing new suppliers to receiving competitive bids and finding suppliers in a new area that comply to the industry standard due to achieving Achilles BuildingConfidence accreditation and registration. Others use it to ensure their supply chain’s Construction Design and Management (CDM) Stage 1 compliance and to help with their own bids. Achilles BuildingConfidence provides buyers with statistical evidence to support a supplier’s capability whatever their situation.
